Top Surgery After Breast Reduction Surgery
A top surgery after breast reduction will begin similarly to traditional top surgery with the patient being placed under general anesthesia. Depending on the patient’s needs, Dr. Sajan may start with liposuction or immediately make the horizontal incisions and remove the nipples. He then will remove all of the scar tissue present from the breast reduction and the previous scarred skin.
Dr. Sajan will then remove any other skin necessary to prevent dog ears and create the desired chest contour. Stitching the chest, he then will reposition the nipples on the chest. The operation tends to take longer than most other top surgeries because of the necessary scar tissue removal.
